This can be pretty subjective. I can be as simple as a pop-up book or choose-your-own-adventure. It can be anything that makes the book untraditional.

A few recommendations to get you started:

The Invention of Hugo Cabret - Brian Selznick (children)
House of Leaves - Mark Z. Danielewski (adults)
S - J.J. Abrams (adults)
Illuminae - Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff (teens/adults)

Alicia | 19 comments I just finished Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds. It was a quick read and is told in verse. It was quite thought provoking.

I'm definitely thinking of doing House of Leaves for this prompt. It's been on my TBR for a while now :) Thank you for the recommendation.

Rita Wright | 10 comments I’m currently reading Poet X and I think it would qualify here. I think it’s pretty amazing so far and I’ll likely finish it today.

Erin (erin814) | 5 comments I read Breast Cancer at 35: A Memoir. The author told her story in a series of poems.

Nikki (mnnikki) | 164 comments I read The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick and I LOVED IT!!! I seriously think everyone should read it. And read it aloud to children. Such a beautiful story with the added bonus of amazing b&w illustrations.

I still hope to read House of Leaves, which was my plan, but this came to my attention and was available at the library.
