Fantasy is full of magical creatures - read a book about them!

Duncan the Story Dragon - Amanda Driscoll (children)
The Hobbit - J.R.R. Tolkein (middle grade/teen)
Odd and the Frost Giants - Neil Gaiman (children/middle grade)
Harry Potter series - J. K. Rowling (middle grade/teen)

His Majesty's Dragon - Naomi Novik (adult)

Sara Frie | 13 comments Hmm. I’m thinking of reading The Deep End of Sea. Sounds pretty great. Medusa misunderstood. Lol. Anyone heard of it?

Nikki (mnnikki) | 164 comments We read Odd & the Frost Giants for Level 2 this year and I didn't think to use it for this category! Oh well. Today I finished A Crack in the Sea by H. M. Bouwman because it was next in line of my unread Reading Crate books. Didn't really love it, but it was ok and it had Kraken in it!

sara (sarasara) | 33 comments I read Sweep: The Story it a Girl and her Monster. The monster was considered to be a golem.

Alicia | 19 comments I read Deathcaster by Cinda Williams Chima. There are dragons. I have enjoyed this continuation of the Seven Realms series. My daughter refuses to read this series, though, because her favorite character from the Seven Realms series dies very early on in the first book of the Shattered Realms series. I must admit, I was pretty crushed, too.
