Just wondering what was the best book you read this year?

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments This was not a good year for five star books.

I think my favorite was probably Ocean Light by Nalini Singh.

But I think I am biased because I just enjoy this series.

Chrissy (bookwormchrissy) | 32 comments I had read and loved Kelley Armstrong before, but I just really got into the UF genre this year, and I had a great reading year. I discovered a lot of new-to-me favorite authors (Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, Kim Harrison, Seanan McGuire) and binge-read a few of the UF "classics". My highlights this year were probably October Daye and The Hollows.

Leigh | 1219 comments I had a good year a lot of solid 4 star but here are a my 5 star reads.
Four Seconds to Lose (Ten Tiny Breaths, #3) by K.A. Tucker Five Ways to Fall (Ten Tiny Breaths, #4) by K.A. Tucker In Her Wake (Ten Tiny Breaths, #0.5) by K.A. Tucker Cruel and Beautiful (Cruel & Beautiful, #1) by A.M. Hargrove Crooked Kingdom (Six of Crows, #2) by Leigh Bardugo Diamond Fire (Hidden Legacy, #3.5) by Ilona Andrews Magic Triumphs (Kate Daniels, #10) by Ilona Andrews Iron and Magic (The Iron Covenant, #1) by Ilona Andrews Burn Bright (Alpha & Omega, #5; Mercy Thompson World - Complete, #15) by Patricia Briggs The Trouble with Twelfth Grave (Charley Davidson, #12) by Darynda Jones High Voltage (Fever, #10) by Karen Marie Moning The Dark Calling (The Arcana Chronicles, #5) by Kresley Cole Flame in the Dark (Soulwood, #3) by Faith Hunter Deadly Silence (Blood Brothers, #1) by Rebecca Zanetti

I am totally missing Kate Daniels. I was so sad for it to end. I will be rereading it soon. I can honestly say I love all things by Illona Andrews.

I am still dragging my feet in reading it, I just love that series!

message 8: by Nerdy Werewolf (new)

Nerdy Werewolf (nerdywerewolf) These are my favorite 5-star books that I read in 2018:

Caraval (Caraval, #1) by Stephanie Garber -A joy to read. An orginal Grimm-esque, devious-feeling, possibly high-fantasy fairy tale.
Pirate Consort (Telepathic Space Pirates, #2) by Carysa Locke -The second book in a (get this) reverse-harem, space-opera/pirate adventure series that reads more like urban fantasy. Yeah, I love these.
Green Lantern Rebirth (New Edition) by Geoff Johns -A space-adventure comic which effectively introduces you to a world while setting up a story to follow. Beautiful and fun.

Do you think I used enough descriptive words??
