Uhoh... Tree of Smoke was no good? I've listened to a bunch of Denis' books on audio and loved them (Jesus' Son, Train Dreams, etc). But haven't read/listened to this one yet.

Erica Schutter | 47 comments The writing was good and it might be one of those “right book at the wrong time” things for me, I found I was constantly distracted while reading it, it just wasn’t really holding my attention. I really like the story of one of the characters but the others were just kind of meh. I am looking forward to reading Jesus’ Son though as I have heard amazing things about it.
