Stories aren't only found in books - we enjoy them on the big (and small) screen as well. Find a book that reminds you of your favorite movie or show. This is also a great way to hook a reluctant reader - find them something similar to what they already love!

For example:

If you love Star Wars, you might enjoy:

Saga - Brian K. Vaughn and Fiona Staples (adult)
Red Rising - Pierce Brown (teen/adult)
Zita the Space Girl - Ben Hatke (children/middle grade)

What's your favorite show or movie?

Jean | 11 comments My favorite movie is Gone With the Wind. I think I am going to read The Wind Done Gone for this.

Nikki (mnnikki) | 164 comments I decided to read Orange Is the New Black by Piper Kerman for this because we just finished the Netflix series. I think it was a good book but there were parts that seemed really slow to me so I gave it 3.5.

Katrina Slayton | 25 comments I love crime thrillers/dramas and cop shows and my recent favorite is Mindhunter on Netflix, so I read "The killer across the table" by John Douglas

Alicia | 19 comments My favorite tv show is Gilmore Girls. I read Life and Other Inconveniences by Kristan Higgins to fill this prompt. The matriarch is the main character's grandmother, but she raised the main character and has a bit of an Emily Gilmore feel to her. The main character also has a teen daughter.

Alien Echo by Mira Grant

Laura | 18 comments So my favorite movie is Labyrinth, and I read an amazing book called Wintersong last year that has a Goblin King in the story. But I didn’t want to read it again, so I just went with The Testaments by Margaret Atwood, since Handmaid’s Tale is one of my favorite shows (and books!)
