Mock Caldecott 2026 discussion

We have our list, based on the 2019 Mock Caldecott Voting -Round 1 of 3 thread:

Now it's time to do a preliminary vote.

When the Caldecott committee votes for a book they list their top three choices.

"Each committee member votes for three books, with four points assigned to first choice, three points to second choice, and two points to third choice."

The seven books that earn the most points will be on our final round.

I remember the discussion about the Fan brothers' eligibility coming up last year around The Antlered Ship. Here's from The Horn Book, Jan 5, 2018: "The Fan Brothers live in Canada. Are they eligible for the Caldecott? That question has come up on many discussion boards about Caldecott contenders. And the answer is yes. According to the Caldecott criteria, “The award is restricted to artists who are citizens or residents of the United States.” Although they reside in Toronto, Terry Fan was born in Illinois; Eric, in Hawaii. So they are United States citizens and are thus eligible."
