Same here, Phrynne. Sarah can be so naive at times but her guess that it was a home for unwed mothers wasn’t a bad one.
See, that’s why I don’t read the synopsis before I begin reading the book. I know I set these things up but I forget about it five minutes after I create the post.


Me too Robin. Fortunately I stopped before I got to the part where it revealed who the victim was going to be.
I was surprised by how much time it took Sarah to figure it out. She can be naive but it's not like she doesn't know what happens in the streets. Maybe it was because it was more high class than she imagined a brothel to be?

It did take a while for Sarah to catch on. I'm guessing calling a mid-wife to a brothel is very rare. If the ladies got pregnant, they were probably sent away.


Yes, Sarah even mentioned that fact that pregnancies in brothels were rare. The women knew how to prevent them or take care of them early.
