Jim, this is your thread for 2019. I have included the link to the required format thread and an example. If you had a 2018 thread - it will be archived so when you get the opportunity move over your completed books and formats to the 2019 thread - but we will allow time for you to do that.

Please follow the standard required format below - I hope you enjoy your reading in 2019. Here is also a link for assistance with the required guidelines:

Link: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Our Required Format:

JANUARY

1. My Early Life, 1874-1904 by Winston S. Churchill by Winston S. Churchill Winston S. Churchill
Finish date: January 2019
Genre: (whatever genre the book happens to be)

Review: You can add text from a review you have written but no links to any review elsewhere even goodreads. And that is about it. Just make sure to number consecutively and just add the months.

IMPORTANT - THE REVIEW SHOULD BE SHORT AND SWEET - THERE ARE NO LINKS OF ANY KIND IN THE BODY OF THE REVIEW ALLOWED. NONE. DO NOT REFER TO ANY OTHER BOOK IN YOUR BRIEF REVIEW. THE ONLY BOOK CITED IN YOUR REVIEW IS THE ONE YOU ARE REVIEWING - NO OTHERS. ALL LINKS TO OTHER THREADS OR REVIEWS ARE DELETED IMMEDIATELY - THERE WILL BE NO WARNING. WE CONSIDER THIS SELF PROMOTION AND IT IS NOT ALLOWED AND IS IN VIOLATION OF OUR RULES AND GUIDELINES.

We are here to help and hope you enjoy your thread in 2019.

Regards,

Bentley

1. Free Science Fiction Books On Kindle Linked List of over 350 Free SciFi Classic Stories And Early Fantasy Novels by Morris Rosenthal by Morris Rosenthal Morris Rosenthal
Finish Date: January 4, 2019
Genre: Nonfiction
Rating: A
Review: The title describes this brief ebook succinctly. Most of the titles listed were free on Amazon Kindle at the time of this book's publication. While a few of the authors, such as Jules Verne and Robert A. Heinlein, are famous, most are obscure. Nearly all of the stories listed in the collection were published between the late 1800s and early 1900s.

Jim Townsend | 115 comments 2. The Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx by Karl Marx Karl Marx (1813-83) and Friedrich Engels Friedrich Engels (1820-95)
Finish Date: January 5, 2019
Genre: Nonfiction-Politics
Rating: A
Review: A well-presented treatise on Communist theory that in later years, judging by the number of people murdered in its cause, was poorly practiced.

Finish Date: January 8, 2019
Genre: Nonfiction-Biography-Baseball

Review: An amazing book about one of the most beloved (by fans) and hated (by his fellow owners) owners of all sport, who brought both the exploding scoreboard and a midget into baseball.

6. Somebody's Gotta Say It by Neal Boortz by Neal Boortz (no photo)
Finish Date: February 3, 2019
Genre: Nonfiction-Essays-Politics
Rating: A
Review: The author, a conservative radio talk show host, details his ideas on what is wrong with America, and how it can be fixed. What he says will amuse, shock, and infuriate, and perhaps make one think.

Jim Townsend | 115 comments 7. The Constitution and Other Documents of the Founding Fathers by Andrew S. Trees edited by Andrew S. Trees (no photo)
Finish Date: February 24, 2019
Genre: Nonfiction-History-U.S. History-Historical Documents
Rating: A
Review: I'd never heard of some of these documents (such Samuel Adams' 1772 Rights of the Colonists; or The Northwest Ordinance, which established and set forth governance of the territory NW of the Ohio River), and read them for the first time in full. The Constitution, for example, does not give the people the right to vote. The Founding Fathers intended for small groups of people elected by the State legislatures to vote for our President. The documents give a very good light on how our great men thought at that time.

Finish Date: February 28, 2019

Rating: A
Review: A physicist looks at the mechanics of baseball.
