Bang Bang Books Welcome to a new year of Mock Printz reading. Please remember to watch the 2019 Youth Media Awards, YMAs, on January 28th at 8am PT to find out which of your favorite books won awards.

My name is Dawn, BangBangBooks, I will be your moderator this year as Jenna and Tegan are on the Newberry and Printz committees this year.

Without further ado, what books are you excited to read this year and what do you think this group should read?

Maureen (mhsquier) | 79 comments Hi Dawn! Two books that I've added to my TBR pile:

City of Girls
Internment
We Set the Dark on Fire
Rayne & Delilah's Midnite Matinee

2018 was such a good year for YA lit, it looks like 2019 could be too!

I don't think City of Girls is a YA title. It looks like it is for adults.

message 4: by Leslie (new)

Leslie I'm looking forward to reading:
On the Come up
We Set the Dark on Fire
The Love and Lies of Rukhsana Ali
Slayer
The Art of Losing
Watch Is Rise
Internment
How to Make Friends With the Dark

So much good stuff coming up! I don't see anything on the horizon that looks as good as Blood, Water, Paint, but the year is young.

Anne Bennett (headfullofbooks) | 81 comments We haven't voted for a June book yet, right? I am still in line for the May book at the library so I want to place my hold as soon as possible.

Susan | 1 comments I just finished "13 doorways, wolves behind them all" by Laura Ruby and it was wonderful! Definitely one to watch! Also, it was just named as a National Book Award 2019 Longlist Nominee!

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

I loved "13 doorways, wolves behind them all" by Laura Ruby as well. I also like "Girls Like Us" by Randi Pink, and "Forward me back to you" by Mitali Perkins.
