What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

At the start of the book we meet our heroine and her dad (but no mum); we also meet our hero and him mum (but. No dad). Well you can guess what happens - mum meets dad and they marry, however there is already heat between our h & h. A romance blossoms, but they keep it hidden from the parents. Eventually they are caught in bed together, and it breaks up the family. I think one of the parents was a grifter(scammer). I think our hero was a “bad-boy.”

I read this book about 10 years ago - it was in paper form... I think
