rotane Hey all!

First of all, sorry if this has been discussed before – but it's somewhat overwhelming to dig out stuff on Goodreads. ;-)

Anyway, let's get straight to it. In short, i'm looking for books similar to Paper Towns.

But what means "similar" to me, in this case? Well, here are a few things/themes i have in mind:

- Teenage main characters who are best friends.
- They may be nerdy, but should be smart (or think of them as smart). Can be funny too.
- Obsession with a "perfect" (or "perfectly quirky") girl.
- Coming of age.
- Set in and/or around high school.
- Set in the current time (use of smartphones etc. is ok).
- Told in first person (not necessary, but would be a nice touch).
- No "serious" drama (terminal illnesses, death, etc).
- Should feel positive, rather than bleak overall (though some sort of drama or conflict is very much allowed).

Having said all that, it doesn't have to be limited to these things (or must include all of them). Plus, it could also include any of the following:

- Some sort of fantasy element (think Life Is Strange, the video game).
- Girl main character(s).
- Stronger focus on romance.
- Lesbian/bi characters are also cool.

(Though i don't want to read about the main character fantasizing about a guy; that's out of my comfort zone.)

Any idea would be greatly appreciated!

Ayushi Sharma you can try Eleanor and Park, Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell or other novels by john green

rotane Thanks Ayushi, i'll have a look!

Amber A really great read, that in my opinion is actually better than Paper Towns would be Let's Get Lost by Adi Alsaid.
Really hilarious read, girl with amnesia goes on a road trip and meet 4 amazing people who all touch her lives. She has amazing and funny adventures with them all, helping them with their problems along the way. This is the perfect thing to read on a road trip or in an airport.

rotane Oh that sounds great, Amber. Thanks!
