LunaLord | 50 comments Hey I've been trying to convince myself to go back and finsh a book I'm about half way done with. I really want to finish this book. I just haven't been able to open it becaue the last time I read it I was reading it to my Mom on her death bed.

I’m hesitant to ask, but how is your mother?

message 3: by LunaLord (new)

LunaLord | 50 comments its okay to ask she died in August.

Jaxon(Jax)[They-He] I'm sure she wouldn't want you to stop what you love because of a death. I'm sure she would want you to finish what you enjoy

LunaLord | 50 comments I wouldn't have posted if I wasn't ready to explain a bit. She died of cancer after having been in the hospital for about a week.

LunaLord | 50 comments I'm sure you are right. She loved books too.

I know how it is to lose someone close to you. I lost big of my grandmothers over the summer.

Relating to the book, start back at the beginning. Reread the book, and whenever thoughts drift back to your mother and the sad time, take a break from the book, and still think of your mother. Think of the happy times. Of the best times you can remember.

I hope maybe this will help.

Jaxon(Jax)[They-He] <3 so do it. Finish that book, for her and for yourself. Maybe you could one day visit her grave and read it out loud as if you're reading to her

Hey,
I'm really sorry to hear that...I agree in that you should pick up the book if you feel that you are ready to do it. I don't think you should ever fall out of love with reading, and certainly not a book that might end up meaning so much to you :)
But read the book at your own pace, and do what feels right for you :)

Snacks Prynne (murdermysterygeek) | 68 comments Maybe reading it will help any feelings you are harboring towards your mom.

LunaLord | 50 comments I did pick it up.I read a little bit of it. it brought back memories of sitting at the hospital with her. It's a book of short stories and the stories were good. It was comfortable and it wasn't heartbreaking. I do have a feeling that I'm not going to be able to read it very fast.

Snacks Prynne (murdermysterygeek) | 68 comments I'm very glad you decided to go through with it.

LunaLord | 50 comments Yeah I've been reading just a little bit of it each night. I'm not going through a very fast like my other books but it's good to read.
