I'm awfully ignorant on these things, but 1500 calories seem few for a person who does intense physical activity. Just how short is she? (hide spoiler)]

Finished: (view spoiler)[Interesting book, if I'm being honest. It had a cool concept.. but I feel like some of it was anti-climactic.. and the characters were just hard to get fully invested in. Again, it could just be me though. (hide spoiler)]

Ch 20: (view spoiler)[ I'm not sure I understood what happened. Did they just sap energy from plants and animals? Because it sounds like people in Clarkesfall died of hunger not from some life-consuming spell. Or is it because it wasn't as immediately lethal for humans as it was for other life forms? Finished: (view spoiler)[ Kin :( I hope they can get it back in the sequels, even if I'm not sure whether I want to read them.
Overall it was good mindless action, but it didn't have much else to offer. The worst part for me were the romances. (hide spoiler)]
