The Last Hope
question
Should this have been the last main series book? [Spoilers for The Last Hope and A Vision of Shadows arc}

I've re-read The Last Hope multiple times, and the ending still gets me every time. For me, the book has always made me emotional, especially the ending, when Midnight and Rock repeat the full "Kin of your Kin" prophecy in front of Dovewing. The book definitely felt like and ending to the Warriors series. Firestar was dead, Bramblestar became leader, Lionblaze and Cinderheart were together, and it was implied that Dovewing and Bumblestripe become mates (at least, until Tigerheart's Shadow came around). My point is, the book definitely feels like it was meant to end off the main series. After the threat of the Dark Forest, no other threat seemed to come that could really pose a huge threat to the clans. Sure, there was Darktail and his Kin in the A Vision of Shadows arc, but they only lasted about three books before Darktail was killed by Onestar. The rest of AVoS was just the clans trying to fully bring SkyClan together with the other four clans, which, in my opinion anyways, was pretty boring and The Raging Storm was a lackluster ending. TRS' ending didn't get me like TLH's did. While true, there wasn't any major character death or battle at the end of TRS', I felt like it should've been at least some tension to jump into the next arc of books. On top of that, I feel as if the books have dropped in quality in some parts, as if the authors are tired of writing the series. If that is the case, I can't say I blame them. Warriors has been published for about 16 years now. With a pretty boring ending to the AVoS arc compared to the The Last Hope, it makes me wonder if The Last Hope should've been the last main series Warriors book. I'm not saying the last Warriors book forever, since the publishers know this is a profitable franchise. What I'm saying is if this should've been the last book about the lake territory cats. Super Editions, novellas, and other books could be made about other cats (we could have Super Editions returning to the old forest). While I do love Warriors and I'd be pretty sad if this was indeed the last main series book, I wouldn't have minded it if it kept this ending. What do you all think, though?
