For anyone interested in participating next year you can nominate any number up to the maximum per type -- so if narrowing yours to a top ten is hard or if coming up with ten is harder, your favorite votes will be welcome.

Personally, I like to see grades. If I see somebody who likes the same type of books I do grading something well, there is a good chance I will take a chance and read it,
There are, of course, a few of you I don't trust at all. You know who you are.

You're right, Melodie, it sure did wile away the hours before the game!

I know, Susie! Pretty wonderful, isn't it?

Hey, it's not my fault that you don't appreciate literary treasures like God Is a Bullet and Shutter Island!

Susie wrote: "Thank you for doing this Carol! Do you realize how long some of us have been "book buddies"? A looooong time!"

Oh well, I picked the wrong bench. I'm sure we disagree on something...

Which reminds me, on to the task of teasing you all with our many glossary terms developed over the years!!

I’m new and cannot figure out how to access lists - like these, and for voting on upcoming group reads. Please help. Thanks.

Mary, don't know if you are on the GR web page or using their app, but if you're on the web page go to the top of the page. There should be a hyperlink entitled "Best of Year Read." If you click on that you will get a list of all the topics for the years we've been posting our lists. Click on any one of them to get the list.
There is a separate topic for our group read suggestions. We don't vote so much as ask for ideas and have people weigh in on whether they are likely to read the book. Here's the link for the 2019 ongoing topic.

I’m always amazed at the breadth of reading we all do, while maintaining our shared group reads and keeping up with our old favorites. John Sandford seems to keep topping our best author list, so if you haven’t checked him out you really should. A couple of our group reads made the lists -- thanks to those suggesting, those participating, and most of all to Ann for keeping us organized and motivated!
Time to dive into the lists; have at it, and let’s have an even better year of good reads (see what I did there?) in 2019!!
