How do you find new books/authors to read? Is it mostly Goodreads, Facebook, word of mouth, Amazon, a subscription program?

I always start with Goodreads for an author suggestion. It’s a tremendous source for finding exactly the type of books I love. From there I try and follow the authors I love on Instagram. I always get good ideas on Insta. Amazon also

It is word of mouth that I trust the most. I read books that friends recommend. I also look at blurbs posted and on retail sites. I hate to admit it, but I am one of the people that...covers matter. If the author is new to me and I am scrolling and the cover isn’t pleasing to me, I keep scrolling.

for me its mostly from goodreads, blogger that i followed here but lately I also have been getting recommendation from some mutuals on twitter.

For me it is mostly Goodreads. I also will search my local library and see what new books they may have gotten in and if it looks good, i will borrow it and see if i like it. I also sometimes go to Amazon and see what is free and one click those. If i like those, i will get more from that author.

Mostly on goodreads. But lately I find new authors via Fb - by being a member of several authors groups. They spread the news about new releases. Or via different email subscriptions ( from giveaways, events etc).

I generally follow the buzz. If it's a new and hip thing, it doesn't matter what platform you're on, people will be talking about it. Another successful way I've found new authors is to check out the *Most Requested* on NetGalley.

For me it's word of mouth, Goodreads, FB book groups that are neither blog-related or author fan groups and Netgalley.

Facebook groups, Goodreads, Amazon for blurbs and ratings, a couple of blogs that I trust. I have found excellent books to read this way so it’s usually through the recommendations I find in these places.

I used to find new authors through Amazon. Now I get recommendations from author’s groups on Facebook, emails and Instagram. Even Twitter.

I get a handful of newsletters from bloggers who share my taste in tropes, but I also take recommendations from author groups and authors themselves.
Right now, I'm going through my recommended authors that I've not read yet.

I get newsletters, I watch a lot of booktube and goodreads

A lot are recommendations or if I like the blurb when someone is reading something on here. Although I think id need to live a thousand years to actually read all the books I want to LOL xox

From Facebook and Instagram book groups. Recommendations from my favorite authors are my favorite way to try new authors.

When I started I attended a lot of book events that I may only know one or two authors at and recommendations from Amazon. Now I am a Booktuber on YouTube and I still attend a lot of signings but I also obtain recommendations from my favorite authors, twitter, and other booktubers.

Nowadays I'd say it's more Goodreads & FB author groups for me. I love when authors allow 'what are you reading?' & recommendation threads in their groups. I feel like it's better than more general groups because being in the same author group I know we at least have that author in common, so I feel like the chances are better I will like what they're reading or their suggestions.

For me it’s Facebook, GoodReads and also KU. When I see a new author, I’m more likely to read them if the first book is free or on KU. I’ll totally buy the next ones to the series but it’s hard to drop money on the unknown.

Goodreads and a couple blogs I follow. Author recs will get me to look at book not auto buy.

I normally check Goodreads or Amazon also bookbub for new books and authors I'm not on Facebook book or any other social media sites 😬

For me it’s generally through my Facebook book club . With this latest plagiarism scandal I’m not sure I’d trust Amazon to point me in the right direction. A great book club is a godsend

I get emails from bookbub, red feather romance, and a couple of other similar things, by telling them what sort of books you like they then email you books on offer in that genre every day and I can read a little bit about the book and if I like the sound of it I go through to Ibooks or amazon and either read more (maybe a sample) or download it 😁

I usually find new authors through Book of the Month for the groups I’m in on Goodreads. There’s always a poll for what to read each month of 5 or 6 books and that’s usually how i find new authors. I also read reviews of books from friends on my timeline and if it looks interesting then i might check it out. News letters that are sent out might turn me on to a new author as well.

Mostly from Recommendations people make through my Facebook book groups. I never seem to have luck w/ Goodreads suggestions. Sometimes ads that pop up on FB or Amazon. Also cover is very important if it’s a new author unless the book is recommended so much so that I have to see what the buzz is about. I know it shouldn’t make a difference but if the cover is not good it makes me think there wasn’t much love or creativity put inside the book either.

I usually find them through Amazon kindle news letter, also recommendations from good reads and youtubers

I use a combination of authors that I follow on goodreads and the books they recommend through BookBub.

Goodreads has definitely opened up a whole new world or authors and genres to me. Also chatting and making connections on here with other readers and getting recommendations from them as well has introduced me to some awesome authors and stories.
