This book won the group read poll for the fall! I have seen the play and movie, but never read the book. I hope that you enjoy it and happy reading!

I started this book a few weeks ago while I was on vacation. Looking forward to finishing it with the group. Starts with rumors...

Katy Mann | 45 comments Hi. I was so used to the Lon Chaney movie that I hadn't really picked up on all of the other plot lines. I saw a few in the movie version of the Broadway production, but it's interesting to see them all.

I started this when I was in Paris in May, and we had walked around the Paris Opera. I only read about 20% so this is a good time to finish it.

What do you think of it so far?

Lisa James (sthwnd) I've read the book, seen several variations of the movie, saw a version of it at a dinner theater when my 24 year old son was in middle school, & saw a stage production of it at a major theater downtown based on the Andrew Lloyd-Webber production. One of my personal all time favorites! Enjoy!

Kenzie | 13 comments See, I saw the musical in NYC and saw the movie with Gerard Butler and Emmy Rossum so I already loved it. The book was pretty good, not what I expected

Maggie the Muskoka Library Mouse (mcurry1990) I was surprised at how different the book is from the musical. The fact that Christine and Raoul were so young is a little disturbing to me.
