I wasn’t aware of this, but there are 2 books by Ann-Marie McDonald on our list. The other one is The Way the Crow Flies -#96. Has anyone read it? If so, do you like her writing style?
I’m probably done for today & possibly the weekend. Going to get my granddaughter this afternoon. It’s been several weeks due to bad weather, illness, etc. But I will be back to visit ... after we’ve made slime more than likely. Have a great weekend!!

I’m having a pretty hard time with this book. Not ready to give up on it, but not liking the characters very much. Anyone else have thoughts on it?

That’s it exactly. I don’t like any of them & the story at times is almost too much. I’ve gone a little farther ... not quite halfway ... just slightly into Book 3.

Summary statement from My VERY brief review:
It's a powerful book, but NOT an enjoyable read. I did not like Frances at all; but I loved Lily.

I truly hated this book. I gave it 3 stars (2.5 rounded up) for how well written it was & for the ending, but I hated the characters & the abusive (sexual & otherwise) relationships that were throughout the story. Some stories do not need to be told & this was one.

I totally agree with you. I actually rated it two stars for how well written it was. Otherwise it would have been a 1 star for me.
