It could be scifi or anything else.

The original Dune from David Lynch was flawed, but with flashes of brilliance, and should have been 3 movies (the reverse of what Peter Jackson did with The Hobbit)
Kingkiller Chronicles and Wheel of Time are already in the process of being adapted.
Remnant Population is a possibility with the added benefit of being a role for an older, non-white actress (could have Oscar potential)
The Dresden Files Collection 1-6 and the rest of the books could make a good series.

there have been some loose adaptations (they're mentioned in this Wikipedia article) including a stage play
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Study...
and a lot of those are available on amazon.com etierh as Prime Video or as a DVD:

of course they're rather old...but the two recent Sherlock series contain loose adaptations

Pretty much the same goes for Simon Beckett and his David Hunter series (The Chemistry Of Death etc).
Regarding stand-alone films I'd love to see adaptations of My Sister, the Serial Killer and Dead Lake. Especially Dead Lake had such a great visual, it would make a gem of a horror flick.
In SciFi I'd love to see a film version of Wasp. If possible done by Edgar Wright.

I haven't seen dune I plan on seeing it this summer as I have many of the books from the 60's up until the 2000's, yet I haven't read any of them which is so funny. Anyways about that, the director Denis is making it and the cast is really a lot with big names, so it should be interested in seeing it.

I can see why you would say that about the wasp. Just looking at it's plot, then thinking about how edgar wright makes movies like action but with some humor like baby driver, I can see how that would work.

As a fan of scifi it would be nice to see N.K. Jemisin books turned into a movie.

725 million is a lot of money especially for a first movie, I think if it was to come out today it would make a lot more money.

That's already been done, a single series back in 2007.

You can probably find it on streaming service somewhere. I picked up the DVD boxed set at a discount store for $5 and it's well worth watching.

Seeing what they did with the dragons on Games of Thrones Season 8, Episode 1 on April 14th shows that the adaption could be made, though it will take a lot of money to do it.

Same. The White Dragon is one of my all time faves and after seeing Dragonheart back in the 90s I figured they could finally do it justice. But they’ve been talking about this for 30+ years now, so I doubt it will ever happen.

or
The Demolished Man
My jaw would hit the floor if they could make any of those work in a tv-series or movie format

So to that end, I’d like to see...
The Golem and the Jinni. An urban fantasy set in NYC at the beginning of the 20th century, it would be cool to see that. Plus it’s relevant to current events,
Station Eleven would actually be fairly cheap to do, as it’s a post-apocalypse tale. No fancy sets or expensive effects.
Ex-Heroes is superheroes + zombies. It’s the perfect combo platter!

How about TV series?

Could not found any recent development though.

I'd love to see it mixed media, with different styles for different characters and different planes; animated, CGI, claymation, puppets, Dave McKean collages and live-action for the waking world. And in some cases you might need to mix them all together, so a puppet Marv Pumpkinhead talking to a live-action dreamer in an animated dream-world.

I would really love to see them make some more. The next one The Drawing of the Three would be interesting, as I keep wondering who they would get that would do justice to the complex but wonderful character of Odetta/Susannah.

Also, a series based on Joe Abercrombie's First Law Trilogy and a movie based on Best Served Cold. I'm just not sure who should helm the movie. I think Chad Stahelski and David Leitch of John Wick fame would certainly work wonders with the action scenes but I'm not quite sure if they could pull off the more serious story beats.

Hell, yes; Legend would make an amazing movie!

Heh. Nobody who didn’t see that when it came out remembers that flick.
I was at a dinner party a few weeks ago and mentioned that it was the 30th anniversary of the release of Heathers. No one at the table knew what I was talking about. Heathers!

The edition I own is called Against the Horde. Still, maybe a bit UKIP...

Yes, it was originally published in the UK as Against the Horde: Volume I of the Drenai Trilogy in 1982. It was re-released in 1984 as Legend for international publication.
