Catherine remembered David Wilbanks and fondly. She’s never asked about her mother or Parnell. What do you imagine was her experience with these two?

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments It seemed like Catherine had a lot of positive memories of her father. I'm wondering if Catherine was closer to Anne than her mother. It felt like Emma didn't pay attention to Catherine. And, Catherine seemed to remember Parnell's drinking. She may have also remembered Emma's physical abuse of Parnell.

I think you’ve nailed it, Robin. She’s never mentioned Emma at all and I don’t believe she was around very much in her recent memories. I’m sure Catherine witnessed lots of fights between Emma and Parnell. Anne seemed to love Catherine so I’m sure they had a closer relationship.

~ Giulia ~ | 193 comments I agree, Robin and Jonetta. Anne and David seemed very fond of the child while instead Emma was away for long periods of time so she must not have spent much time together with Catherine.
