What are you reading this month, MAY 2019?

StarMan (thestarman) | 1942 comments Psssst! If you need an interesting book to immerse your snail eyes* in, our current official group reads are:

1. Outlander (Quarterly Read selection, 800+ pages!)
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

2. A Gentleman in Moscow (our 'Second Chance Reads' poll winner):
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

3. Red as Blood and White as Bone (May short story poll winner):
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

* Yes, most snails have rudimentary eyes at the ends of their two "tentacles." But their eyesight is very poor. Maybe this explains why they love to read slowly, or kick back with an audiobook (even though they don't have ears, hee hee).

Pien and I will be finishing Winter of the World.

I’ll also be finishing Educated as well as continuing to chip away at 1Q84.

I’ll be reading “Wakefield” by Nathaniel Hawthorne and “Wakefield” by E.L. Doctorow for the launch of the Short Story Sip & Spill branch of my book club. And I plan to read “Red as Blood and White as Bone” as well.

I’m sure I’ll be starting whatever the next selection turns out to be for my book club. And I’m on the waitlist for The Silent Patient but may not get it this month.

I’ve already read Outlander (didn’t love it but didn’t hate it), and I’d love to read A Gentleman in Moscow, but I don’t know if I can squeeze it in this month.

Thanks for sharing the current group reads, StarMan! It’s very helpful!

Sounds like you've got plenty of good stuff to read this month, Pien!

P.S. It's never to late to start our group YEARLY read. This year it's A Game of Thrones, and the group discussion is at https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Yep, I'm only about 2 years late, as this was our August 2017 Book of the Month!)

I plan on reading our May BOTM (actually a short story), and some more short stories, since May is official Short Story month.

Vickie (bookfan4ever) Getting ready to start a buddy read in another group- The Silence of the Lambs

Also finishing up two others from April. I'm going to try and read our May short story as well.

Who knows what else I'll throw in this month. My TBR pile is enormous at this point. Sigh...
