Keri Phillips | 164 comments Ok... Here's my current list

The 7½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle
Aru Shah and the End of Time
Ink and Bone
The Partner
Circe
A Court of Mist and Fury

Aru shah is very much like a Percy Jackson series but with Hindu gods and mythology. REALLY well done.

Ink and Bone is book one of a series and i really like the world building and the concept of this one.

The Partner was a new John Grisham for me. I loved it and did not expect the end.

Circe is a perfect book for anyone into Greek mythology.

Court of Mist and Fury is a re-read. I forgot how much I enjoyed this one, ESPECIALLY the ending.

You almost always read books that I have loved or that are already on my TBR, but when I see something that I haven't seen yet, I immediately add it. We have such similar taste in the books we read!!

Keri Phillips | 164 comments Just finished Furyborn and Beneath the Sugar Sky

Furyborn is classified as a young adult but really should be new adult. I love how the beginning of the book sucks you right in. The ending left me anxiously waiting on book 2.

The Wayward Children short stories are dark, twisty, and in general I've enjoyed these. This one wasn't my favorite though. Parts of it made me laugh, but it just seemed forced.

Book of a Thousand Days by Shannon Hale

This was good, but one of the secondary characters made me want to chunk this book in the toilet. Also, I listened to parts on audio book, and when the narrator sang the songs....I cringed.

I gave this 3 stars!

Keri Phillips | 164 comments Beauchamp Hall
Alaskan Holiday
City of Ghosts

Beauchamp Hall was not a typical Danielle Steele novel. If I didn't know who the author was, I would've never guessed. If you liked Downton Abbey, this one is fun.

Alaskan Holiday is a light hearted read. Several of the characters were over the top, but still had me laughing.

City of Ghosts is a middle grade book that was a VERY pleasant surprise. The plot is developed enough to suck in adult readers, but easy enough that it can be followed by younger ones.

Teresa (sweettreads) | 82 comments The last book I finished last month was The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson I gave it 2 stars. I honestly just couldn't really get into it. That is not the normal style of book that I read so it's not that its a bad book, its just not my type of story.

Yes it is! I've been wanting to watch the show but of course I had to read the book first. Since I didn't like the book I'm wondering if I like the show... we shall see!
