Welcome to the Great American Read List group and thank you for creating a personal bookshelf, Erin!
Love your organization!
I just peeked at your currently-reading shelf (to see if you're reading The Intuitionist or Flowers in the Attic with our group this month) and my jaw dropped. You're reading 23 books! I've read 6 at a time and thought that was a lot. Now I feel like a slacker. [I'm grinning.]
You're ahead of me in the Song of Ice and Fire series (I'm jealous). I'm 49% through A Feast for Crows. Are you watching the television series as well?

Oh my... no need to feel like slacker! I had a baby last year and was being fickle about what I was reading - I started a bunch of books and didn't make it through everything. My goal this year is to get through what I started. I'm down to 5 books that I'm working hard on at the moment!
Ah, I was so sad to start A Dance with Dragons. Who knows when the next book will come out!? I've been dragging my feet on starting it, but I'm looking forward to seeing where Martin left the story. I'm more of a "read the book first" person and have avoided the TV show because I wanted to wait for Martin to finish the series. However, I'm interested in seeing in what HBO has done with it! I will probably start watching it sometime this summer.

I LOVED IT. 5 stars!!!
Although I'm not a huge video game person, Cline did enough explaining that I never felt lost or confused. It was one of my favorite reads so far this year!
That one's been one my "to read" list for quite a while. I really should find the time to read it this year. It's the kind of thing I know I'll enjoy. And I bought a copy almost a year ago, so it's already on my Kindle.

Andrew, this one is totally worth your while! A fun read, for sure!

Still working through how I felt about it. Sometimes I liked Alaska; other times, I didn't. The structure of "before" and "after" definitely kept me guessing as to what happened, and I was surprised what the turning point was. I appreciated the reality Green brought to the uncertainty and ambiguity Pudge and the Colonel felt about what actually happened.

Erin wrote: "Just finished Along Came a Spider - I really enjoyed it! The characters are complex, and I really liked Alex Cross. This is a series that I will want to finish!"
I have not read any of the Alex Cross series, but I've always wanted to. I'm glad you liked "Along Came a Spider". I did finish "Looking for Alaska" and enjoyed the writing style. I look forward to reading other books by Green.
But first I have to finish War & Peace. :)

Oh, War and Peace... I'm about 200 pages in. Thanks for inspiring me to get through it!
