Every decision Doug made seemed to be foolhardy, even down to Arlo’s treatment. Why did everyone keep following his direction? Did he get all of them killed?

Doug seemed to be the alpha male throughout the book and everyone believed in him. I think they would have had a better chance if they had worked together.

He was a butthead trying to at first impress Maura but his stubbornness seemed to be part of his personality. I don’t think they believed in him as much as they wanted him to be right and didn’t feel like dealing with his sore ego.

Yes, I think he got them killed.
