Lakeland Public Library discussion

Back in the late 90's I read a book about a Jewish lesbian woman going to Mexico and fearing to introduce her partner to her family. I NEED to find this book but I can't remember who wrote it, the title, nothing! I have tried Google searches and I can't find an even remotely close book. Help please!!!
