Have you taken an ASVAB test? and if so what score did you get. (only in the army) you will be able to chose your MOS depending on your score. the army is the only branch of the armed forces that lets you chose your job. I highly recommend you talk to an army recruiter.

in my opinion 17 is the perfect age to talk to your local army recruiter. it gives you time to figure out what exactly you want to do. i wish i would have talked to an army recruiter earlier than i did.
the army recruiter will work with you and be with you 100% of the way. and you will get everything guaranteed to you in writing.

By enlisting in the army will not only give you benefits but your spouse an children will also be greatly benefited by it.
for example, when my girlfriend decides she wants to go to collage she will be guaranteed tuition assistance.

It all depends on what you are best at when it comes to the marine corps.
