N.M. (nmbrome) Overall I enjoyed this book. The writing was beautiful, but I felt like the characters droned on for much too long throughout and it fatigued me a bit. I'm glad I read this, nonetheless, because it made me reflect on being content with the natural flow of things. Forcing illegitimate outcomes never ends well.

Marie Really enjoyed the book as well. I kinda hoped we'd see more time jumps than just the one, but it ended up working out alright, I think. It was interesting how Dorian Gray near the end thought that he was in the right when abandoning the poor girl - which he had also done ten years earlier, indirectly killing Sibyl. And he didn't care about murdering one of his friends. So I have a feeling that his morals were in the painting with his soul. I also really liked the character of Sibyl Vane. It was very tragic how she died because of Dorian Gray's shallowness, and him then pushing the whole thing aside. Very good book overall, and definitely one of my favourites from this book club so far.

I was so annoyed at that whole situation. How does one night of bad acting let you ruin all of your love for someone? Felt so bad for Sibyl.
