deana everett | 124 comments Oh my goodness! So much is happening all at once. I feel horrible for Elizabeth and at the same time repulsed. How could she, no matter how tired, how defeated, how disappointed, say and do the things she did to Henry. I am glad she took matters into her own hands. I’m pretty much over Matt and Janine. They both get on my nerves and have muddied the water. Poor Pak was only trying to protect Mary, the person he does everything for, suffers everything for. Mary is a teenager and the consequences of her actions are horrible. Teenagers do not think of consequences outside themselves. Tragic. I don’t know what Young will do, but I know she loves her daughter and has sacrificed so much for her.

Ruth | 35 comments I’m not happy with things Elizabeth has done either. Coming from another mother I just can see myself saying those things about my child. Young is probably my favorite character. I can tell she loves her daughter but she wants the truth.

Myra | 48 comments Elizabeth's treatment of Henry was heartbreaking. She could not face what she'd done. Sad that she had no support system! Young is brave to face the truth. she has a backbone after all.

Katherine Ast | 16 comments I know I’m late to this discussion string - I just finished Miracle Creek since I had to wait for it to become available at my library through Libby. I was riveted by this book. So many people with secrets. Elizabeth’s story is heartbreaking. Matt is despicable. My favorite parts of the book were the insights I learned about immigration & the difficulty of trying to learn a new language and assimilate to a new culture both as an adult and as a child. Thank goodness for Henry’s House to give this story some hope.
