Lynn (lynnsreads) This is a thread for everyone to check in. Saying hello and hearing about each others' progress is encouraging. So how are you doing?

Ruthsic I think I've been doing well with my challenge! Currently I am at 110 books so its looking good for 300 books by the end of the year. I also am participating in a readathon during this week, and I am aiming for a book a day.

Elizabeth Mellen (librarypatronus) | 37 comments @Ruthsic 😍😍 awesome! What readathon are you doing?

Update for me: I am hoping to finish my 200th book today 🙂 I’ve been having kind of a run of ‘meh’ books, so I’m working on a reread of Obsidio (Illuminae Files #3). I don’t know if the lower ratings on books is just my headspace (still not great), me getting better at being realistic and not overly nice in my ratings, or just bad luck. Hoping it gets better and I get some good 5 star books soon 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Lynn (lynnsreads) Wow! You both have read quite a lot! My numbers aren't so high, but I feel good about the books I have read. I have a YTD total of 40 books that I am counting. There are 12 more short stories that I am leaving out of the count. So far this month I have read:

Letters of Two Brides by Honore de Balzac
The Pearl by John Steinbeck
Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse
The Man Who Planted Trees by Jean Giono
The Borden Murders: Lizzie Borden and the Trial of the Century by Sarah Miller

When I get a series of books I don't really like, I reread a beloved book from my childhood and it always seems to straighten things out.
