Carlos is a DEA agent, deeply undercover. Do you think that agents in similar situations have often succumbed to the lifestyle or stepped over the line? Is he possibly one of many casualties of the job?

I’m guessing yes, but I don’t think that it is made known.

Me too, I'm guessing that there are lots who cross the line. Not knowing Carlos was DEA until well into the book was a plus for me. At first I thought he was law enforcement and then I though he was cartel. Not knowing for sure made it interesting.

I have to imagine a certain percentage of these agents do go the way Carlos chose. It’s a hard life.

Like you, Anita, I thought he was a vice cop or something. When I learned he was a DEA agent, I got why Leticia was so frightened.

I thought he was a high ranking politician before we found out how violent he was.

I don’t know why but I always thought he was in law enforcement.
