Barb | 1868 comments For those of you, like me, who use FictFact to keep your series reading organized, you'll be saddened to learn that the site has closed. If you go to the site now, you'll see this:

We recently lost our primary source of income, Amazon Associate sales. Due to a minor error on our part, we unknowingly had in infraction of their terms. We tried to appeal after we corrected the issue, but was not successful and they terminated our account. Over the years, we have had donations from our wonderful supporters, but it is not enough to cover our operating costs. We are extremely sad to have to close down the site after almost 10 years. Thank you for all your support over the years!!

There is a link where you can download your book data as a .csv file until July 1. If anyone knows of a site that might work as a substitute for FictFact, please let me know!

Barb | 1868 comments I feel lost today without FictFact, but I'm also angry at Amazon for not being willing to give them another chance when they corrected the infraction. Talk about ruling with an iron fist! One mistake and you're done :(

I was on their facebook page the other day. Speculation is that they (Amazon) didn't work with Fictfact and were fine with them shutting down as it would drive users to the Goodreads Series information. Which is DEFINITELY not as user-friendly.

I've used fictiondb for years for books but it doesn't have the same level of series tracking as FictFact - you can sign up for favorites and get notified when a new book comes out and you can track your books there as well.

Another place to look is FantasticFiction. Also not as good as Fictfact and currently limited in number of authors you can follow. It's a recent feature so maybe they'll expand it when it's been rolled out for a while.

I was just thinking could you buy a book from amazon on FictFact?

Maybe if you could not, that's why amazon ditched them and made up some excuse!

I'll keep track of my series reads myself and go to author/publisher websites, blogs, etc. for new book release info before I rely on GR series pages, which they "improved" awhile back LOL

I posted this and it is not a PORN site! It's a list of book sites.

Joanne, I don't know what's happening - I got porn when I first clicked it. I just looked again and got a bunch of broken links to those book sites and the option to go to that porn site.

Perhaps it depends on the browser.
