My apologies for the delay in posting the results. We are traveling tomorrow and so had to go to mass last night, which of course started at 5:00, following which we went to one last celebratory dinner with my son (who graduated from medical school on Friday) and his wife. When I got back to my room, it was late and I just forgot.

This has happened in the past, but it has never changed results, and this time it did. When I left to go to mass, I Am Margaret was leading Story of a Soul: The Autobiography of St. Therese of Lisieux by one vote. Had I closed voting and announced the results when I got back from dinner, they would have been tied and the randomizer would have chosen which book we read in June and which in July. This morning Story of a Soul: The Autobiography of St. Therese of Lisieux is the winner, which leaves me with a conundrum. Our past practice has been that all votes cast before the polls are closed are counted, but it doesn't seem fair to have I Am Margaret lose out completely because of my tardiness.

So we will read both books, but instead of the randomizer deciding, because it actually had more votes, we will read Story of a Soul: The Autobiography of St. Therese of Lisieux, by Thérèse de Lisieux as our June BOTM and I Am Margaret, by Corinna Turner as our July BOTM.

Every book received at least one vote, so none are eliminated. The top six books this month were:

Story of a Soul - 9
I Am Margaret - 8
The Return of the Prodigal Son - 7
Ascent of Mount Carmel - 6
Georgios - 4
Scarlet Pimpernel of the Vatican - 4

The two books to replace our two winners when we vote in July for the August 2019 BOTM are The Secrets of Successful Financial Planning: Inside Tips from an Expert, by Dan Gallagher, nominated by Dan and Saint Francis of Assisi, by G.K. Chesterton, nominated by me.
