Ami The start date on the homepage reflects the 26th, while your schedule states the 25th... which is it, because we’re going into a holiday weekend, giving us less than a week to get our books and start reading on top of everything else?

If it is in fact the 25th, is this a reading schedule or a discussion schedule, should we prepare to discuss on the 25th?

When will the threads open, on a specific day, or within that week, randomly?

I think I may echo Brian and Pamela’s posts in the nom thread, did you by any chance see those comments... a June start date might make for a more cohesive discussion, giving some of us time to prepare.

Pamela (bibliohound) | 161 comments I'm definitely in for this one, really excited about it. I have a physical copy so will be reading that.

Thanks for putting up the schedule Lorna. As I posted in the nominations thread a 1st June start would work better for me, but if the majority want to start on the 25th/26th I should be able to catch up.

Thanks. I am reluctant to reread this one, but since it is only a couple of years since I read the book, I can probably remember enough to chip in a little.

Karen Michele Burns (klibrary) A Fine Balance is one of my favorite books, but I don't know if I will do a reread. It's been a long time since I read it, but I will try to participate either way.

Tammy Dayton | 81 comments I am participating. I will get my copy this week.

message 6: by Marie (new)

Marie | 83 comments I am excited to be joining this read. The audiobook was available with my scribd subscription, so I decided join. I should be able to keep up if I can multitask. Lately, I have been finding it convenient to put some headphones on with a book playing while I do the dishes at the same time.

It will also be another book that I would have never have known about if it were not for this group. I have loved the book recommendations in the group just as much as I have loved the discussions so far.

Jack (anubis_lab) | 7 comments I just bought my copy and I'm looking forward to it.

Jazzy Lemon (jazzylemon) Yes I will give it a go!

Are those page numbers or chapters?

message 9: by Bron (new)

Bron (bron23) | 50 comments I'm in. I have had a copy for ages so it will be good to finally get to reading it. However, I will now need to dig out of a box which might be quite hunt at this stage given the number of book boxes I have that aren't labelled with much detail! I'll try to keep up but am still way behind on Daniel Deronda which I will also keep chipping away on.

message 10: by Brian E (new)

Brian E Reynolds | 148 comments I'll be joining in as I too have had a copy for ages, if 10-15 years can count as ages. I have a lot of other committed-to group reads so may not be joining in until mid-July, but when depends on how many books I choose to juggle at a time.

message 11: by Cordelia (new)

Cordelia (anne21) Yes. I will give it a go. I have an old copy in the bookshelf, but I dont remember ever having read it.

Nicola | 522 comments Hello all, it's been a while :-)

I have wanted to read this for a while so I'll be joining in the group read as well.

message 13: by Cindy (new)

Cindy Newton | 52 comments I'm joining in, as well. This has been on my tbr for awhile, and now that school is out, I will have time! I've heard a lot of great things about this book, so I'm really looking forward to it.

message 14: by Dianne (new)

Dianne Thanks Lorna! I’ve wanted to read this for ages, starting today!

message 15: by Nicola (new)

Nicola | 522 comments I'm just waiting on my book from the library - should only be a couple of days. I'll quickly catch up once I have it don't worry.

message 16: by Mekki (new)

Mekki | 1 comments I have a copy, so I'm in also.

message 17: by Karen Michele (new)

Karen Michele Burns (klibrary) I strongly considered re-reading this book as I loved it, but I'm not sure I can get to it. I just recently joined in on Daniel Deronda, so I'll still be around and I'll add to the discussion if I can remember enough.
