This is the place to make threads to share those series that just didn't do it for you. Most of us have them. Ones we just don't want to bother continuing.

Share how far you got, maybe even why you stopped (be aware to use spoilers if specifics are used).

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 988 comments I don't ever really 'give up/dnf' a series. :/

Good for you! There aren't very many but I have a few where I read the first book and just don't want to read the next once in a while. Or ones from my youth that I started and never finished and now likely never will.

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 988 comments I always figure I will go back to a book. It's just a never ending suspension lol.

Haha.

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 988 comments Yup. I should really try to weed some out though. Like I don't think I will ever go back to Guardians of the GAhoole 1- The Capture by Kathryn Lasky

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 988 comments But maybe I will have kids some day? They might like it?

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 988 comments I'm a garbage person who attracts garbage lol. I really need to start to weed. I have over 3000 books and only like 500 of those are ebooks. :/

Yes! I am putting a few here. Just ones I really don't consider my TBR so I can store them here and if I ever decide to go back I can without tying up space.

You don't want to know how many books I have. Well, my ebooks are mostly up-to-date listed but my physical books are only 1/2 done. Then I have a ton of others on here that I want to buy, borrow, etc. I can't keep all of them and some will be years and years until I revisit, if ever. And if I feel that way, here they go.

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 988 comments Oooh I didn't know we could use it like that. I thought it was like I will NEVER EVER go back to this because I like fing hated it or there was something really offensive.

If it's like books that are so low on my list I just might never get to them I have several!

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 988 comments I always love hearing about others hoarding books lol. My mom barely understands it and she is also a reader. It makes me feel like I am not alone. lol

Use it how you want. I am just putting ones here that are a hard no or a very doubtful I'll ever get to it. If I honestly want to or hope to it doesn't. But if they are here in this folder they aren't on my TBR lists or shelves to be read

message 14: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 988 comments I just realized it might take me forever to do that so I might just skip it till I'm really bored. Because I was looking at my first page of 'own' and was like yup. Nope, Nope, probably a nope, etc

Jamie | 2554 comments Mod
Lol. None of this is any rush. I am just jumping all over the place as I go through my list.

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 988 comments Awesome. I do love having stuff to 'organize' as long as it's not in RL. lol. Virtual organization is my wheel house. :P

Yes... Although I am liking more organization in RL too. And I keep wanting to do bullet journaling or something and then I am not very artsy (I like to look at it but terrible making it) and I start one and then never continue it so digital it is. But I am liking organizing my home more all the time.

message 18: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 988 comments I just want things to be organized in RL. I don't want to do it myself or have to keep up with it. It's why when I move out and have more options my choice will be to live minimalistically. The most 'stuff' I will have will be my books.

I have been doing similar. I am far from a minimalist but working my way toward being more minimal. But my books is a no touchy! I will always have a personal library!

message 20: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 988 comments Exactly! I already kind of have done that with my furniture. I literally have like no furniture in my room and in my house in general. I got rid of my tv like 15 years ago and my bed side tables and dressers like 10 years ago. I was like if it's taking up room I could use for my bookshelves then toss it!

I love Marie Kondo's method for clearing things out. Keeping just what I need or love. I still have things but I like having less. Especially less knicknacks and generic clutter. I still have some, but way less than many others I know.

message 22: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 988 comments I'm working on that too. It's hard though. I have a need to have stuff. 🤦‍♀️

It is hard. I still have a lot of stuff but I have nearly 1/2 the amount I did 8 years ago. I did my first purge then when I had to downsize but still had a ton and these last couple years I have been really clearing out things that I do just fine and even better without. Books is still the battle but here is a starting place.

message 24: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 988 comments Ebooks really help with book purges. They are all in one little device rather than like 50 bookshelves but it's still hard. :(
