What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

The animal is captured somewhere exotic, is put in a crate I believe or in a group of crates, and escapes and starts killing people. It is highly intelligent, and I seem to recall it being blue, either due to the cover illustration or something in the book itself. I believe that a museum is involved? Anyway some blue ape predator kills a bunch of people in a museum I think?

Please help me find it. Thanks

Predator in a museum sounds a lot like Relic . Which is a fun read, and much better than the lousy movie version -the monster in it does match your creature description fairly well -especially since the cover was one of those with a cutout and on the second page was a blue tinted ape looking thing with claws -you can see it a bit in the cover on GR.

Highly intelligent blue ape thing on a killing spree also fits Killer fairly well, but it's set in ancient Rome.
