I'm only about 40% into this book but am so jarred by the inclusion of a parabati in what would be the 5th book in this series. Why wasn't it mentioned in the other books since these are technically prequals of the Mortal Instruments series? I know these were written after the first three so for continuity's sake why all of a sudden introduce this. 100+ years later I would assume there would still be parabatis unless this is actually explained later...maybe they refused to allow any other shadow hunters to participate in a parabati. Jonetta what do you know? is it done away with?
1. That which is worth having—the good, fine, honorable, and noble things—are difficult to attain.
2. Beauty is harsh.
The author also uses this phrase in her dedication. Why do you think she chose it for this story and how do the meanings apply here?
