A simple superhero origin story with an odd hero. Michael Vey a boy with Tourette’s syndrome who has the ability to expel electricity. With an all knowing genius best friend in the form of Ostin Liss and a new friend slash love interest with similar abilities named Taylor Ridley the three are forced go on the run and leave their old live behind after an organization in search of children with special abilities similar to theirs find out of their survival. They are forced to make difficult decision and go through horrific situations as they try to stop this organization with the help of old friends, new friends and unexpected allies. The genres help make the story exciting, heart renching, and satisfying the more you read. the author was definitely meant to entertain their readers by keeping them on the edge of their seat.
This book made me fall in love with the characters and the relationships they develop as the story goes on while also keep me on edge with struggles they go through that no mere human could persevere through. I loved this book and it definitely effected me by making me want to follows the leadership and compassion the protagonist shows and showing me that being different could be your most appealing quality.
