Autumn | 4 comments This was a children’s book series which I think may have had the word ‘park’ in the title, but can’t be sure. There was a group of several animals, all different, as the main characters. One of them was a bird of prey which was named ‘Whistle’ or ‘Whistler’, because he had a hole in his wing, and it made a sound when he flew which I think the other animals were originally frightened of. I’m fairly sure it was set in the English countryside. I would’ve read it during the late ‘90s, early 2000s.

Sue Elleker | 1050 comments The Animals Of Farthing Wood by Colin Dann. One of the books is called The Siege of White Deer Park. And here's Whistler.
"Whistler
A helpful, droll and friendly heron whom the group met in a quarry. He was shot in the wing, and thus makes a whistling sound when he flies. He took the oath when he joined The Farthing Animals. He helped the animals on numerous occasions during the journey. He often flies around White Deer Park and he sometimes has bad news with what he had seen on his flight"

Autumn | 4 comments Ah, that was it! Considering I seemed to have remembered a lot incorrectly, I’m surprised anyone could name it. Thank you so much :)
