Obviously, any of the many Aesop's Fables editions belongs to this topic. I am currently reading this edition, with illustrations from a variety of well-known 19th and 20th century illustrators such as Arthur Rackham and Walter Crane.

On a more humorous note, and with a twist ending, there is:

My mom liked Sylvester and the Magic Pebble

Emily Thevenin Growing up my best friends and I would pour over the Sweet Pickles collection. I think most of the them had a lesson/moral. I remember Elephant Eats the Profits was one of my favorites.

Emily Thevenin I think many of Bill Peet's books had a lesson in them as well. I remember Cyrus the Unsinkable Sea Serpent talked about the value of being a loyal friend.

Penny Eifrig (eifrigpublishing) | 4 comments There is a beautiful new book by Billy Bloom called Walter and the Wallet. It teaches a lesson of doing the right thing, but in a gentle and humorous way. I love the ending, which I smile at every time I read it!

Authors, posting about your books in any place except the promotional section is strictly against group rules and will get your post deleted. I just had to delete such a post and I really do wish that authors would read through the group rules before posting about their books.
