Kay Great book - not the easiest read - which I think is kind of the point.

Judy | 9 comments Her best so far, IMO

Jane Dolman | 3 comments One of my favourites... would love to re-read but scared I might not love it as much

Kim | 20 comments Another Women's Prize Winner that is in my top favourite all time books. Top shelf stuff!
Jane has a point, I wonder if it would have the same impact on a re-read! It's been over a decade since I read it.

Margo I preferred Commonwealth.

Robert | 23 comments I read this in one sitting - I love the way Patchett just develops the situation. I HAD to know how the book will turn out.

Karen Flockhart | 2 comments Read this when it came it but only just got around to reading another of hers, State of Wonder. I loved that too.

Valje | 8 comments I would give this 4.5 stars simply because I was a tiny bit disappointed by the ending. What a refreshingly different, original idea for a novel! So many interesting characters! You always knew it was going to end, but no idea how! Definitely one of my favourite reads of the Women's Prize Project so far!

Cathie (caffeechino) | 13 comments I found this easy to read but given the subject matter I was a surprised that was the case, it felt far to lighthearted to be believable. I did like the characters in as much as we got to know them but this was not really for me. They all seemed to settle to their fate way to easily, no trying to escape even though to do so sounded like it would be simple.
