Perrin plays a bigger role in this book, and perhaps a more mature one. I now see why I counted him a favourite before. Things are brewing in Two Rivers. And the fit is about to hit the shan, so to speak.

Hoang (hoangh98) | 35 comments Man, I love the Perrin's chapters. It's weird how I am starting to like Mat. The only slow and kinda boring plot from this book is the Tanchio's part. Not too interesting. It seems dragged. It's like Robert is telling me these weak, and arrogant Black Ajahs are some kinda threats comparing to Forsakens and The Dark One? Come on, he should've ended this sub-plot since book 3. I just can't seem to think Liandrin can control Rand or even block him from the power like Lanfear or other Forsakens no matter how many Black Ajahs she has. Liandrin finds some kinda Angreal? Fine, Rand has the best Sa'angreal, Callandor. What can she really do? The only reason I think Robert even kept this subplot to book 4 is to give something for Nynaeve and Elayne to do. Also, Liandrin is hardly an interesting character/villian, I even prefer Dain Bornhald over her. He seems much more interesting like his father. She's just so boring to read. Just a 1-dimensional power-hungry buffoon because she was born a peasant. Even Elaida doesn't seem to be that much of a threat. If Rand doesn't finish up the White Tower, the Seanchan probably will do it for him.
