Jane (janeboniface) | 123 comments Cracking action read. Max has never known his parents and has grown up in an orphanage. He is happiest when being active in the outdoors and wants to join the army when he leaves school. His plans change though when after saving his hiking group who are caught out in a storm on a mountain climb, he is snatched away by a mysterious man and flown by helicopter to a remote training camp. He has been selected to try out for the Special Forces Cadets - teenagers who are trained to be undercover agents and who are sent on dangerous missions (sound familiar?) Max undergoes a harsh selection trial, which the group only just complete before being sent off on an emergency first mission. A school in London has been overtaken by armed terrorists from Chechnya and students are being held hostage. Great for fans of Cherub and Alex Rider. Highly recommended.

Joanna | 14 comments Could I please ask that all books being reviewed have the author's name attached. I don't get standing orders. Thanks

Jane (janeboniface) | 123 comments Hi Joanna, the author's name normally displays when you select the book details on Good Reads - but in this case it hasn't for some reason. Although there is a record for Siege by Chris Ryan on Good Reads, the book cover image isn't there either.
I don't get the Scholastic Standing Order either (I did up until this year). I bought Siege through Wheelers, I doubt it is in the Scholastic Standing Order.
Cheers,
Jane

Jayne Downes | 19 comments Thanks for the review Jane. Sounds like just the sort of book we need for our Year 7 and 8s.
