Despite the offensive depiction of God being an alcoholic, the book is a great adventure/SF/humorous read. It has some cerebral underpinnings, with a touch of nonsense. Overall, Shift!, is really entertaining, and if you have the time to buy the kindle or nook version, go ahead and do it. It's worth the investment.

Also, the bite-sized sections make this book an absolute easy read. The high technology and riveting storyline keeps the pages turning. Don't take my word for it, check it out here:
