I want to start reading this tonight but a bit wary of it, as complicated fantasy isn't really my thing!

Has anyone read this yet?

I read Spellslinger in January. I didn't find the magic system that hard to understand; it might be a lot to take in at the start, as the majority of it is explained then (if recall correctly), but after that it is smooth sailing. Spellslinger is a relatively 'fast' / 'light' read. I'm a bit of a slow reader, and I finished it fairly quickly.
