Veronica (readingonthefly) | 1631 comments Well I totally went off plan in June, only finished one of the books I'd actually listed, but here goes anyway...

1. Did you complete and/or get up to date in any series this month?

I stayed current with one series, if that counts. Storm of Locusts (The Sixth World, #2) by Rebecca Roanhorse

2. Did you start any new series? If so, what were they? Will you continue?

I started three new series but will only continue with one of them Transformation (Rai-Kirah, #1) by Carol Berg

3. Did you move forward in any series? How many?

Only moved forward in two series: Heirs and Graces (Her Royal Spyness Mysteries, #7) by Rhys Bowen Stonewielder (Novels of the Malazan Empire, #3) by Ian C. Esslemont

4. Any standout or 5 star books read? Why did you love it/them?

No five star books this month but I did have three, four star reads.

5. Overall summary of your reading month?

Two travel trips in June, one for fun and one for work, really cut into my reading time so I only finished six books for the entire month...and carrying over three more into July. That said, I really enjoyed most of the books I read. Four of those six books were four star reads for me.

I started the "Enchanted Bridal" series by Samantha Chase. I've read the first two books and thought they were OK. I am interested in seeing what is going to happen to the main characters.

3. Did you move forward in any series? How many?
Besides the Samantha Chase series, I moved forward in three series:
In Death series - J.D. Robb
Gaslight Mysteries - Victoria Thompson
Innocent Prisoners Project - Marti Green

4. Any standout or 5 star books read? Why did you love it/them?
Only one 5-Star book for me in June. I loved Innocent in Death (In Death, #24) by J.D. Robb Innocent in Death

5. Overall summary of your reading month?
I finished 8 books in June. Most of them were mediocre....not bad, not good. Hoping to pick better books in July.

Veronica, looks like a solid month to me! Sometimes it’s just so much fun to go off plan. Despite that, you did great series reading and enjoyed your month. Kudos!

Wish your reading experience had been better but now that you’re retired, hope springs eternal😏

But! Great job in moving forward in your series reading. And, Innocent in Death is SO good it had to compensate for the mediocre reads. Your July plan looks promising.
