This story was much darker. It was a meditation on death and uninterested nature of the beast and how that affects the people in the world.
Part of me wishes this was longer. I really wanted more about churchmen in the story. I know most of my fiction deals with faith and spirituality, but I was so intrigued by how they responded to the Kaiju.
I love the darkness of the story. It reminded me of the feel of a Torchwood episode without an obvious Captain Jack.
I suppose the fact that I want so much more means that the story did what it was suppose to. It got my mind running.
