Here’s one for you. Heavy Metal Parking Lot is a short documentary, filmed in the parking lot outside the Capital Centre in Landover, Maryland on 31 May, 1986, before a Judas Priest concert.

I caught that, strictly by luck, just before the weekend, and really enjoyed it.

In particular, it was nice hearing the old Compendium bookshop mentioned so fondly. I spent many hours and £s there... one of my all-time favourite bookshops, and sadly missed.

One minor correction, though. The stepped ramp where the cover of the first Clash album was shot is still very much there, and very recognisable. It's right across from the Modfather clothing shop.

I dare say the folks around these parts are familiar with this already but if not I'm going to guarantee it will be a hit here.

Not a documentary but a somewhat startling very short interview from 1976 with Bon Scott and AC/DC in Covent Garden in 1976 during the heatwave of that year.

Check out Bon's outfit. You need some front to wander around central London dressed like that, and hang out in a pub, even during sweltering weather. Bananas are an obvious accessory too...
