If you have a blog or a website pertinent to the group -- mystery/crime/thriller reviews, etc --, feel free to post about it here.

Please note: this is NOT the place to promote any new books you might have out, nor to ask readers for reviews.

Jason Chapman | 33 comments Hi guys,
I am about to release the second part in an on going Novel series.

The Angel Conspiracy is set in the 1950s and follows Cambridge Professor Ralph Frederick who is part of highly classified UFO research group. The first instalment of my book series has proved very popular on both sides of the Atlantic and follows the same genre as TV shows like The X Files, Dark Skies and Taken.

I have an amazon author’s page and a blog spot. The Second part of my book series The Angel Conspiracy is due out tomorrow 27th September.
Thanks for reading

Cathy DuPont (cathydupont) | 132 comments Thrillers or Mysteries?

Paul Levine, nationally known (and Goodreads author), writes about the difference between mysteries and thrillers and he hits the mark in his blog. The question came up at a conference when he was asked "do you write thrillers or mysteries?" Great blog!

Judy (judy5cents) | 25 comments I've just revamped my website, something I tend to ignore lately in favor of blogging, Facebook and twitter. I'm back at it, as an author friend of mine said a website is the one place where people can see all of your books, find out about you get in touch with you.

Here it is: http://jnichols001.wix.com/judy5cents

message 10: by Rowena (new)

Rowena Hoseason | 90 comments On my blog at Murder Mayhem & More, I seek out new / independent / undiscovered authors to review (although mainstream authors do sneak in occasionally!). Also do a bimonthly round-up of new titles in the crime / mystery genre. My tastes run to Nordic noir, Eurocrime, international thrillers - but I find that accepting books from 'unknown' authors often highlights some real winners which otherwise don't get any attention.

We're running a book giveaway this week, to help indie authors be seen online. All the details are on the MMM FB page - heaps of interesting crime / thriller books up for grabs.
Some are ebooks, but some are hard copies, and some even signed by the authors.

Here's the FB page:

Every time you post a block of reviews outside of your own topic thread, I go in and delete them, each time with the same message. Since you've created your own blog topic thread, there is no need to repeat your reviews in other places in the group threads. So I'm once again deleting them from this particular thread. Please limit your reviews to the thread you've created for yourself. Next time, there won't be a warning.

Beverly (runawayserfer) | 8 comments Thanks for posting this. "The Simple Art of Murder" is one of my favorite author-essays. I had to click over to re-read it.

P.S. I live a couple of miles away from where Chandler wrote. And yes - I can feel his vibe when I walk the mean streets of La Jolla!

Beverly, good to know another Chandler fan. Chandler's descriptions of California are so vivid. How cool, you can feel his vibes!

"The lights of the city were an endlessly glittering sheet. Neon signs glowed and flashed. The languid ray of a searchlight prodded about among high faint clouds...The car went past the oil well that stands in the middle of La Cienega Boulevard, then turned off onto a quiet street fringed with palm trees..." "Blackmailers Don't Shoot"

Just love his writing.

Lucille | 4 comments Hi all. Lois Winston is a USA Today bestseller of mysteries who runs a blog, Killer Crafts and Crafty Killers. A great place to promote your books and to learn about new mysteries. She allows authors to guest blog on her site. This month, I wrote about the role of aromas or scents in evoking memories in our writing in The Sweet Aroma of Memories. I discussed my memories of visits to Portuguese bakeries in East Cambridge as a child and how these bakeries and baked goods play a role in my Marguerite “Monty” Montez Mystery series. I also share a family recipe for biscoitos (Portuguese cookies). Have fun and let me know how your biscoitos turn out.
