What do you think Lucy needs to do to cope with what happened to her? How can her family better support her? How does one move forward after something like this?

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1808 comments I think Brennan has established the groundwork for this. Dillon understands that he can't be involved with her treatment and that she needs time and space to learn how to deal with it. She's already taken the first step by talking to Patrick even if he can't hear her.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments This is where strength of character and strong family support are most important. How Lucy deals with it and puts is behind her will show how important both are.

Melissa (melissasd) | 676 comments I agree with Lauren and Anita. Her family will definitely be a big help and love how she talked to Patrick. Maybe that will help him as well.

While her family is a source of strength, it’s also her biggest obstacle to overcome. She’s consumed with guilt and shame, knowing that they saw what happened to her and her recklessness put her in the situation. I believe that’s why she feels comfort in talking to Patrick. He’s family but he doesn’t register or convey pity or sorrow. At some point she’ll get past that shame when it comes to family and not see that reflection. But, it will take a lot of time.

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 909 comments I think it will take time and with her family's help (especially Dillon), she will deal with the humiliation and shame. I agree, Jonetta. She is able to talk to Patrick but she knows he's not judging her as she believes the rest of the family is.
