Any other topics you’d like to discuss? Your overall opinion of the story?

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1808 comments It was good overall, although there were some problematic aspects, such as the excessive focus on Lucy's being repeatedly raped and Dillon and Kate's lack of chemistry.

I was wondering about which book we read next. There are many crossover characters between Brennan's series - like Quinn and Nick from The Hunt, Will Hooper in Killing Fear and Jack in Sudden Death.

There are possible others that I don't know of in other books that were published before Lucy Kincaid. So I was thinking of reading Brennan's Prison Break series next followed by the FBI trilogy and then Lucy Kincaid. Thoughts?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments I've read the Brennan books all out of order and so long ago I just don't remember the characters. I think one of the reasons I stopped reading her was the excessive violence and lack of a true romance in her books. I'd like to at least read the FBI Trilogy next, before the Lucy books.

Melissa (melissasd) | 676 comments I think I'm going to go ahead and read The Hunt next since we have been introduced to 2 characters from it (I've already read book 1). I do plan on eventually reading the FBI Trilogy as well.

The only issue I had with this book was the graphic nature of Lucy's ordeal. Things like this don't usually bother me, but it did this time. Maybe because I have come to know the Kincaid family and really like them.

Thanks, everyone for weighing in here.

I’ve tried not to be bothered by all of these connected characters I’ve no background on but it’s not working well. I keep thinking, “What did I miss?”

Let me go back and put together the publication order for this author, leading up to Lucy Kincaid, and offer a revised reading schedule.

What do you think? I enjoyed this trilogy and am wanting to continue.

Thanks, Lauren!

Sure thing! I'm happy to wait for anyone who wants to catch up and will contribute to discussions of the books that I've read already.

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 909 comments I really loved this book. For some reason, I don't exactly know why, Lucy's repeated rape felt realistic to me and even though it was somewhat graphic (I've read worse unfortunately), I felt it was needed to portray how sick this guy was. The non-romance didn't bother me since there was so much going on. I'm definitely in for continuing and I'm probably one of the few who haven't read The Prey, so I'll start there.

I share your feelings, Karen.

I read The Prey so long ago I’m going to have to skim through.
